The temperature is controlled by a thermostatic cartridge and dome operating member with a manual override. Also incorporates a self-cancelling diverter for spout to the shower handset outlet. The spout outlet incorporates a plastic aerator. The shower outlet incorporates an approved check valve cartridge; however, the complete product has not been fully tested to demonstrate it provides backflow protection.
