The temperature is controlled independently via a thermostatic cartridge with a dome type or single lever operating member (see model) incorporating a manual override button. Both inlets incorporate a stainless steel strainer and an approved check valve cartridge, however, the complete product has not been fully tested to demonstrate it provides backflow protection. All models, except the X-KCTD model are supplied with an overhead shower rose. All products are supplied with a shower hose. All models are supplied with a shower handset, except for the X- prefix models. The following models incorporate additional items on the inlets to the overhead shower or shower handset: KCTSDEF, KCTSDEFMH: Overhead shower and shower handset with a stainless steel strainer and flow restrictor on the inlet. DCTWDEF: Overhead shower with a plastic flow regulator and a combined EPDM washer and stainless steel strainer on the inlet, shower handset with a plastic flow regulator on the inlet. KHCTADEF, KRCTADEF, ASCTADEF: Overhead shower and shower handset with a plastic flow regulator on the inlet. X-ASCTADEF: Overhead shower with a plastic flow regulator on the inlet.
