Flow is controlled via a thermostatic mixing valve, the inlet of which incorporates a stainless steel strainer and single check valve cartridge (suitable for backflow protection against Fluid Category 2) and feeds either a bath spout outlet or shower handset which incorporates a self-closing trigger. The inlet to the shower handset incorporates a plastic flow restrictor and a single check valve cartridge however, the complete product has not been fully tested to demonstrate it provides backflow protection. There is a combined spherical valve and strainer on the inlet to the bathing unit which incorporates a single check valve cartridge (suitable for backflow protection against Fluid Category 2).
