Materials containing petroleum or asphaltic bitumen are not approved for use on water-retaining structures with large surface:volume ratio such as lining of pipes, cisterns or water storage tanks in contact with wholesome water, but may be acceptable for use where there is only a small surface area in contact with the water – e.g. taps, valves and pipe connectors.

Cure: flash off for 15 minutes at ambient temperature of 30⁰C, followed by stoving at 55⁰C for 10 minutes and then 7 days maturation at ambient temperature of 30⁰C. For use with water up to 23°C. This material is only approved for the curing conditions that appear on the approval. If the cure conditions are varied from those specified on the approval then the material is not covered by the scope of the approval.
'PCBIT III HIGHBUILD'. Factory applied, black coloured bituminous coating. Apply as per manufacturer's instructions for use, reference 'PCC/ PC 820' dated 10.08.2019. Cure for 7 days@30°C. For use with water up to 23°C. This material is only approved for the curing conditions that appear on the approval. If the cure conditions are varied from those specified on the approval then the material is not covered by the scope of the approval.
'Jerlac High Build Bituminous Black'. Factory applied, black coloured bituminous coating. Apply and cure as per manufacturer's work instruction document 'GPC/WI/10' issue no. '01', dated 03/01/2018. For use with water up to 60°C.
'Nav-Coat Bitumen Paint 001 Black'. Factory applied, black coloured bitumen coating. Apply as per manufacturer's product information sheet issued '10.07.2009'. Cure for 7 days@30°C. For use with water up to 23°C. This material is only approved for the curing conditions that appear on the approval. If the cure conditions are varied from those specified on the approval then the material is not covered by the scope of the approval.
'Dicoat Medium Temp Black'. Factory applied, black coloured bitumen coating. Apply as per manufacturer's user instructions reference 'SPL/RD/UI/2019100121', issue no. '01' dated 08.07.2020. Cure for 7 days@30°C. Between 1st January 2021 to 22nd November 2021, the material is for use with water up to 50°C. Between 23rd November 2021 and 31st January 2026, the material is for use with water up to 60°C. This material is only approved for the curing conditions that appear on the approval. If the cure conditions are varied from those specified on the approval then the material is not covered by the scope of the approval.
