Section Code 5021 : Petroleum or asphaltic bitumen, NOT coal tar bitumen. Materials containing petroleum or asphaltic bitumen are not approved for use on water-retaining structures with large surface:volume ratio such as lining of pipes, cisterns or water storage tanks in contact with wholesome water, but may be acceptable for use where there is only a small surface area in contact with the water – e.g. taps, valves and pipe connectors.
